Reward points, sounds interesting!!!

Never did I bother about the reward points allotted for any debit/credit card transaction. Infact I came to know of them only an year back, where as I have been using them for the past 2 1/2 yrs:) Even after I came to know about it I never gave a thought to redeem them. Only last week when I got my a/c summary sheet from citi, and only after I took a bit of my precious time, yeah very precious time:) to read it(which I usually dont do:)), that I came to know that my points will get expired by April end. And out of habit I just postponed the thought of redeeming them. And luckily today I got reminded of it and opened my citi a/c to realize that few points(may be of last year) got elapsed and I have got 800+ points left. As I browsed throught the gifts avialable, I was really overwhelmed with joy looking at the 'Books' option. Its almost an year since I read any book. So, finally I ordered for 2 books, Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner and Inscrutable Americans by Anurag Mathur.
Only then did it strike that I have got few points with icici credit card and immidiately opened it
to realize that they have eaten all my points as I have'nt used them. When they keep calling you
infinite number of times regarding sme or the other loan, offer, card etc why can't they give u a
call telling that your points will get elapsed soon. Its all double standard principles. Felt really
misarable but the thought that I am going to get 2 books from citi guys made my day:)
Its long since I posted any of my painting, and also its long since I touched my pallette....

The thought that I have to come to off only on monday, for its a 4 day
weekend for us inspires me to post one of my oil paintings... and here it
goes..I really liked it , mainly because of the bright color combination. And its the largest of all my paintings..
It will adore one of the walls of my house, when I own one:)

Quirks with libnet v 1.1.2.1

Many loopholes in the libnet, like checksum calculation are mentioned on the net. But this one is not mentioned anywhere(or may be I could'nt use google search ) and it took hell lot of time to trace it out. As all the while I was under the assumption that its the problem with my code.

Its basically with ipv6 packet construction. The structure libnet_protocol_block has a variable called ip_offset which points to the IP header position in the whole packet and is used while calculating checksum of the transport protocol included in it. While constructing ipv4 packets ip_offset is being set but not while constructing ipv6 packets. Becuase of that, if the ipv6 packet has a transport layer sitting in its payload, the buffer which is being passed for checksum calculation is erroneous. As the pointer (which should be the location of Ip in the buffer) which is being sent to calculate checksum is dependent on ip_offset variable and as its not set the char* being sent points to the end of the packet buffer.

The solution is, while building the ipv6 packet a simple call to libnet_pblock_record_ip_offset will be sufficient but with a check that its not the last header i.e., the ip packet has the transport layer in its payload.

The Leaf

The Leaf, there it was, on the top branch of the tree,
all bright with a bright green hue.

Then came a day when it has to bend in front of the strong winds,
which brought it to the ground.
The tree mourned, but the leaf had a twilight of hope, for its
not an ending but a new beginning;
As it, through the Earth shall reach all the trees and will be
the source of strength.

GOD, yet again you won

I always believed that a Supreme power exists on top of u.. I knew that He is the main thread who has got control on all the thread spawned by him.. but still I used to feel great of his creation, that he has taken the whole control with him except that of your mind; the control of which is with u.. no one else can grab it from u, untill the moment u give it to them.. u can make it dream ur dreams, drive it towards ur dream, but may/maynot achieve it, for its under His control.. even thn I used to feel that his creation is great for he has given us the opportunity to dream and strive for it..
But...
at times one question looms me....
y did He give us this opportunity when at most of the times its He who is going to win the race.. y did he give the chance to dream and strive for it, when He has already decided that He is going to thrash it..........
May be..
May be its to make you more stronger to run the race against Him, and finally either u win or take His dream for u as granted, for atleast u have'nt lost the race being a weak participant...
or atleast u have'nt lost the race without fighting atall..
or..
May be He feels and He knows His dream for u is better than your dream or may be The Best...

A Happenning workplace.. thts mine:)

what else can you expect from a workplace.. as usau,l work is there everywhere.. but my workplace is a happenning workplace.. for sports enthusiasits there were football, badmitton competitions.. for music enthusiasts there was music competetion, prelims of which was conducted 2 weeks back nd today is the finals.. and yesterday there came a renowned singer to enthrall us..
and for art enthusiasts (like me:D) there was painting competition yday:) nd the theme was 'Holi'..I will surely present before you whtever I painted once I get it.. looking at it u were surely ask if all the paintings I'm presenting through this medium r made by me:)I agree with ur doubts guys.. we were provided with crayons, sketches, water colors, poster colors nd what all are needed.. i thought for a change y dont I try with crayons...the image in my mind was to paint two ladies basically rural ladies in northie attire playing holi and add what all I feel like to make the sheet look colorful.. to my disaster crayyons were looking so dull that I totally lost interest.. even before I finished it, my state of mind was to just finish the job at hand..a very bad habit of mine:( instead I could have started it altogether in new sheet nd did the same with other colors or have done sth else.. so after the competition, whoever asked me as which one did I paint.. I said, "amongst all those painting whichever looks like a 1st standard kid's painting is mine:)".. I dont say that I lost because of this.. its because of the huge talent pool over here.. have to agree guys.. people have come with unimaginable but beautiful themes regarding holi... hwever, finally it was total fun n masti..

Journey of Green City towards No-Green City

Since the time I am residing at b'lore I have been hearing locals, environmentalisists, NGOs raising their voices against tree felling. But I think the local govt over here pays no heed to their concerns. Yeah, I agree that development happens at a cost, but there should be some limit for everything. You may say that you will plant a tree to neutralize the cost of killing it. But do you think that just planting a sapling is sufficient. Though I dont have any statistics, I am sure that only 1 out of every 10-20 saplings you plant survive.
In the last week's The Hindu, when I read about an NGOs initiative to call Rudali women to cry and express their sorrow for the trees uprooted in CMH road, I did'nt anticipate the amount of destruction the fellers would have caused to the nature. Its only yesterday, when I happened to visit CMH road I realized it. I could'nt believe my eyes. For a second I was thinking if I am at CMH road or somewhere else?? Almost 70% of those huge number of trees have been cut. The trees which would have taken uncountable number of years to grow; which have been providing shade to googol number of pedestrains without expecting anything in turn must have been cut in minutes time. Looking at it, anyone will empathize at the locals who feel bad that their dear city, 'The Green City' is being converted to 'The No Green city' in the name of development. I feel everyone should raise their voice, contribute their share and give back its status of 'The Green City'; for every individual over here is going to bear the brunt of destroying the nature.
